College Student, Rachael Lindquist Shares How Her Love For Dance Made Her Focus on Self Love

Hi! I’m Rachael and I am currently working as an intern for Seeing Thngs. I am in my last year of college at the University of Missouri, and I will soon be graduating with a degree in Journalism. I have been learning so much from my time with the brand so far, and I am excited to see what the future holds.

Not only do I love the clothes that Seeing Thngs has to offer, but the way it stands out among competing athleisure brands is something so special to me. Our team works hard to promote the message of self love and empowerment. Growing up as a competitive dancer, this was something that I have struggled with myself.

Dance requires a lot of time spent standing in front of a mirror. While the idea behind this is to use it as a tool to better yourself, oftentimes, it can do more harm than good. Spending hours staring at yourself in a mirror leaves a lot of room for comparison and judgement. My body shape, the way I performed, there was always something I wanted to change about myself, and someone I was striving to be like. Loving myself is something I wish I had learned how to do years ago.

Yes, this internship has bettered my professional skills, but more importantly, it is teaching me the importance of loving myself in the present moment. How can we grow and improve if we don’t respect ourselves as we are right now? Interacting and speaking with our followers is eye-opening; I love that we live in a time where self love is so prioritized.

The community that Seeing Thngs has created is one that I will stick with no matter where life takes me. It is so much more than a clothing brand, and I hope that people take the time to recognize that. This brand teaches us that loving ourselves and empowering others is the first and most important step to enhancing our lives!

Only love,

Rachael Lindquist
